"Perfection" Pages

I came across some cool vintage images of Charles Atlas in an old "Smithsonian" magazine and had to use them! To begin my pages, I collaged torn pieces of an old Butterick pattern onto the background using soft gel medium. Then I stamped a flowered pattern with brown Staz-on around the perimeter. (The stamp was in the dollar bin at Jo-Ann fabrics!) The red areas are dyed with alcohol ink and the bright blue is from a metallic paint marker. I love how it stands out on the red. I added a hinged tab on the side by attaching it to my spread with black electrical tape. The tab is actually an envelope and inside is a handwritten note in which I wrote about the human idea of "perfection."
