Stonehenge Spread

These pages are meant to look like those in an archaeologist's journal from long ago.  He/she was studying  the site of Stonehenge, paying close attention to the markings left behind on the stones.  To create the images of the symbols, I had to do a bit of carving through the black paint using the point of an exacto knife, just like when using scratch board.  The image of the worshipers came out of a history book on ancient stone circles.  I did "turn up" the sun a bit, by adding some white pen marks.

This is the spread as it looks with the center flap turned over.  Again, this antique drawing came from the book on stone circles.  I just helped to age it a bit with some liquid acrylics.
