Wise Words...

I'm just finishing up the last of my journal spreads for our swap.  Here's the latest featuring some very wise words for our hectic modern world.  The image of the Buddha came from a magazine page, but I aged it a bit by crumpling it, adding a thin layer of black acrylic paint, and then quickly wiping off the excess with a baby wipe so that the black only stained the wrinkle lines.

The background was created with orange and red acrylic paints.  I stamped the "bubble" pattern into the paint while it was still wet.  Thin strips of metallic, gold tape add a nice shimmer to the composition.

Here you can see how the black paint stained the wrinkles in the image.

I found you via Art Journal magazine and will be adding your fun blog to my reading list!
