Visual Journals

Journaling is really where my heART is.  Most of my work is created in discarded books that I find at thrift stores and library sales.  I take the books home, remove a good portion of the pages or signatures, gesso the pages, and they're ready to be transformed!
Working with vintage ephemera and images I create what I've come to call "Nostalgic Narration" pages, giving new stories and new life to faces and souls long forgotten.

Chelsey, Loved this video and the music as well (I too adore Lorenna McKennitt). I love your mix of old, vintage photos, backgrounds and colorful ephemera. So, so cool.
I just rediscovered you in an old 2013 Art Journaling magazine, and fell in love with your work all over again! I too can relate to how you always wanted to be able to write out your feelings, but things never worked out for you that way. I too can relate to that, and so this is why I have book cases of handmade journals lining the walls in my little art studio! Once I discovered art journaling I have never, ever looked back. Thank you Chelsey and keep on creating! Lynn Parise
